The Alumni Association of the Faculty of Environmental Science and Engineering of KUST (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) is a mass social organization composed of the students and teachers who are and have ever been in the Faculty of Environmental Science and Engineering including those from the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Department of Environmental Engineering of the former Kunming Institute of Technology and those who are now engaged in the cause of ecological and environmental protection graduating from other faculties and departments of KUST. The Association is leaded by the General Alumni Association of KUST and carries out social activities independently. Those who comply national laws and regulations, and obey the rules of the Association can become a member of it after the approval of application.

The Association aims to build a platform, on which, among alumni, their cooperation and exchange can be facilitated, friendships enhanced, and strength gathered, and thus to utilize all the available social resources to help construct KUST to be a“Double First-Class” university by promoting talent-training, scientific researches, social services, cultural inheritance and innovation, international exchange and cooperation.

The Association has a council, the ordinary members of which are elected through recommendation or self-recommendation. Besides ordinary members, the council is composed of Honorary President(s), President, Vice-president(s), Secretary General, Under- Secretary-General and so forth, all of which are elected by a council vote. The members of the first council were recommended by Preparatory Committee. The President, Vice-president(s) and Secretary General serve for three years, and may be re-elected at the end of each term.

The highest authority of the Association is the Alumni Members Congress which is held regularly. The Council Meeting is also held regularly. Certain fees are collected from all the members and donations are accepted from alumni, which will be utilized for the development of the Faculty and to improve the discipline of Environmental Science and Engineering to be a "First-Class” discipline.
