1. Introduction Renewable Resources Science and Technology is the first bachelor education department in Renewable resources areas, and it is one of the professional characteristic department in Kunming University of Science and Technology. It has granted the right to doctor, master degree. The concerned subjects in this department include material engineering, chemical technology and engineering, environment science and engineering, water dewatering excavation engineering, building environment and facilities engineering et. ac. One of the tasks of Renewable resources Science and Technology is to solve the scientific problem in waste regeneration and reuse, provide the basic theory for the circulating economical and clean production development. The correlation subjects with this special department also includes energy engineering, ecological engineering, bio-engineering, civil engineering, hydraulic engineering, agricultural engineering, information technology and so on. Students need to understand these correlation basic elementary knowledge, achieve multi-disciplinary overlapping and the fusion, solve the environmental pollution problems using these knowledge in order to realize solid waste reduces, reuse and renewable. There are 14 full-time teachers in this department, among these there are six professors, three Ph.D ad visor, four associate professor, ten master advisor. Eleven of them have the degree of Ph.D, one of them is the young academic and technical advancer of Yunnan Province. 2. Cultivation plan of Department of Renewable resources Science and Technology for undergraduate 2.1 Cultivation Goal The goal of Renewable resources Science and Technology undergraduate Programs is to prepare talented students to pursue successful professional careers in teaching, research and the practice of designing in regeneration of solid waste. To prepare talented students who have the ability of morality, intelligence, physiques and the beautiful full scale development, satisfying the market economy construction need, solid foundation, broad aspect of knowledge, strong ability, high quality, rich innovation spirit and high-level project technology in production and management. 2.2 Professional career After finishing the program, students can pursue the professional career in research, engineering design and system management such as: reducing the quantification, converting into resources, reuse, solid waste processing and handling, water pollution control engineering, air pollution control engineering, solid waste monitor technology, renewable resources aspect and other solid waste appraisal, simultaneously has the ability of resources regeneration, research and project plan design in solid waste disposal and treatment. 2.3 Service raise specifically requirements (1) This specialized graduate students should grasp the following knowledge Having the theory knowledge about environment laws and regulations, environment policy and environment standard, renewable resources and solid waste disposal and treatment. Grasping the principle and method for resources regeneration, solid waste disposal and treatment, air pollution control, water pollution control and noise pollution control, and having the special knowledge for project scientific research and plan design. Adapting for works in environmental protection department, safety and security department, building materials department, material department, project plan department, government profession the especially and the others control section, industry and mining enterprise, scientific research unit, designing department, universities and technical institutes colleges and universities. (2) This specialized graduate students should have following ability Having the basic skill for regeneration resources, solid waste performance examination and product quality control. Having the ability in regeneration resources research and development new craft and new product for solid waste treatment; Having the preliminary ability in research, design, development for regeneration resources, solid waste disposal and treatment; also can study by themselves, take care of themselves and have the preliminary organization managed capacity. (3) This specialized graduate students should have following quality Loving motherland deeply, having their own ideal, and also having the dedication to work and the sense of responsibility, certain humanities social sciences foundation, good thought morals quality, specialized project technology quality, cultural education and psychological quality, good social morals and behavior custom, cooperation spirit, strong work adaptiveness and independent studying ability. 2.4 Main discipline This specialty take the sciences and engineering foundation curriculum (chemistry, material class) as the foundation platform, take Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering as the foundation elementary knowledge, forms the characteristic specialized constitution system base on solid waste disposal and treatment, resources circulating use, environmental protection and sustainable development discipline. 2.5 Main courses Corresponds with discipline foundation courses. Main courses including: Solid waste disposal and treatment, materials science foundation, fuel and combustion theory, the principle of environmental engineering, chemical reaction engineering, inorganic nonmetallic material, polymer synthesis technology, fundamentals of materials engineering etc. 2.6 Specialized direction Taking chemical engineering and Materials Engineering as the direction, comparing with the science and engineering problems in environmental protection, the goal is to prepare students to grasp the elementary knowledge and project skill in resources regeneration comprehensive utilization, have the wide foundation knowledge, focus on project practice, becoming the comprehension talented person in environmental protection and resources regeneration. 2.7 Time Limits A student may complete all undergraduate work within 3~6 consecutive years. In principle it is four years. 2.8 Award degree The bachelor degree in engineering could be got if the principal requirements to be met. 3.
