International Academic Forum on Environmental Geology
To better understand the academic frontier, and stimulate enthusiasm in scientific research, our Faculty successfully held the International Academic Forum on Environmental Geology at conference room A400 of Environmental Engineering building on August 11th, 2019. This Forum invited Prof. Benny Chefetz of Hebrew University in Israel, Prof. Christian E.W. Steinberg of Humboldt University in Germany, Prof. Robert Cook of Louisiana State University in the U.S. and Dr. Elzbieta Cook to give academic lectures for the teachers and students of our Faculty.

At the beginning of the forum, Faculty Dean Prof. Pan Bo made an opening speech. Then Prof. Benny Chefetz, Prof. Christian E.W. Steinberg, Prof. Robert Cook and Dr. Elzbieta Cook gave academic lectures respectively. This forum has brought great benefits to the teachers and students of the Faculty. Professor Benny Chefetz helped us further understand the migration and transformation of carbamazepine in the environment and its potential threats to human health. The lecture of Professor Christian E.W. Steinberg on toxic effects of natural and synthetic xenobiotics lead to the in-depth realization that toxicity is not an intrinsic property of chemicals but interactions between chemicals and organisms. Professor Robert Cook perfectly combined scientific research with art making students be aware of the charm of science. Dr. Elzbieta Cook taught the students how to be the host of your learning.
